The advancements brought in by technology and the rise of e-Learning platforms have opened new horizons for learning. With major shifts in the education system drawn over since the pre- and post-British rule in the country, India boasts of the world's largest network of higher learning institutions, with significant growth potential now. The education sector's total value is estimated at over $117 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $225 billion by 2025, whereas specifically the ed-tech market is expected to reach approximately $30 billion by 2031. Especially, the ‘New National Education Policy (NEP)’, adopted by the Modi government and approved by the Union Cabinet in the current year is expected to bring a flurry of reforms, ranging from school curriculum reductions to the abolition of MPhil programs.
With reforms, the NEP aspires to develop an education system that directly contributes to the country’s transformation by making high quality education available to all citizens and turning India into a global knowledge ball.
