A performance-based framework that fuels craftsmanship and a fun work culture that endeavors to leverage a better work-life balance - a perfect blend of these ingredients, perhaps, is very scarce to be found in today's startup ecosystem, where many-a-times, tight schedule and long working hours summarizes the journey towards company's success. The situation is more nerve-wracking, when it comes to a product company. How ever,TripHobo - one of the fastest growing online trip planning portals - has been instrumental in redefining such aura.

Driven by a well-designed fluidic office that always shimmers with vibrant and colorful environment,TripHobo is marked distinctively through its culture that mirrors a perfect blend of flexibility, flatness, openness and fun. Here, capitalizing on the massive growth opportunities, the employees can grow to spearhead subject matter expertise, leadership roles or a new domain all together, as long as they continue to infuse their will and impetus. "Accommodating, fun and casual; it doesn't seem like its work; its home," adds an employee at TripHobo.

A Name to Mirror Innovation & Convenience

Trip Hobo is not only a preferred entity to develop one's professional self, but also a name that echoes innovation and convenience for a user. Weaved around the idea of being a global product that provides detailed and intuitive itinerary, thereby making your trip a simplified, yet an economical memory to cherish, TripHobo (erstwhile called as Jo Guru) was founded in 2014. Highly acknowledged for its flagship product named trip planner, the brainchild of three MBA elites is one of the fastest-growing portals of the world and deploys visual algorithms-backed solutions to help users create, customize and automate an itinerary.

TripHobo is also in the process of providing insurance facilities, which will supplement the company’s wish of constituting a healthy work place.

Filling flesh to its official travel thought of Shut Up N' Travel, the company integrates the major requisites - transportation, accommodation, tours & activities, things to do and restaurants - and rolls out an exclusive compendium that takes users on a virtual journey into various cities. Currently, the start-up claims to possess over 3,000,000 monthly users, half-a million user generated itineraries across 14000 cities of the world and has raised around $4.5 million of funding to strengthen its R&D, talent acquisition, content and technology.

The Other Side of the Corporate

"The team is super cool and closely knit; it jumps up to the idea of night-outs to meet a deadline as if it's a party!"addsPraveen Kumar,Co-Founder&CEO,TripHobo. The rationale for such like-minded coalition and a relatively lowest attrition rate boils down to its hands-on, yet simple hiring process for fresh and the experienced job seekers alike, which is divided into technical, logic reasoning and the HR rounds, based on the nature of the departments. But all these strategies endeavors to achieve the same agenda - to onboard right set of people with the right talents and attitude to share the same passion as others. Today with 80 enthusiasts in its portfolio, the company has a healthy ratio between the seasoned professionals and recruits (around 60:40).

Towards a Better Work-Life Balance

TripHobo has built a habit of celebrating women employees - who make around 40 percent of the total headcount - which is reflected in terms of its exclusive women team lunches, movies and government-compliant maternity leave policies. But nevertheless, it has never overlooked male employees as well, rather tenders equal possibilities to relish a better work-life balance. Apart from the standard and compliant policies and employee-engagement policies that
reward the culmination of one's endeavors, the employees are also endowed with flexible work hours, flexible leave policy that include work-from-home opportunities and sabbaticals, and transportation facilities, based on their needs. The organization is also in the process of providing insurance facilities, which will supplement the company's wish of constituting a healthy work place.

"Movies, celebrations, outings, Pizza and game of Carom; it's always a Friday at TripHobo," avows a HR at TripHobo. While some of the recreational activities tend to aim towards teams exclusively, there are some more frolic activities like get-togethers and lunch outings, which are designed so as to embrace employees' families as well. In fact, it is very common to see relatives frequently visiting their beloved and kids running around, within the TripHobo office.
