Prof. Jitender Kumar Gupta , DirectorTo prepare students for the hospitality industry, colleges in India must focus on providing strong, industry-linked training, global placement opportunities, and offering mentorship from seasoned hoteliers. These elements not only build practical skills but also shape professionals who can thrive in diverse, international environments. With the industry demanding highly adaptable graduates, institutes that combine academic knowledge with real-world experience stand apart. A shining example of this commitment to excellence is the IPS Academy Institute of Hotel Management, Indore.

IPS Academy, established in 1994, has evolved into one of the largest multidisciplinary academies in central India, offering over 70 courses to more than 14,000 students. Among its many departments, the Institute of Hotel Management has built a strong reputation over the past three decades. From the start, its mission has been to provide world-class education by blending academic learning with hands-on training. Known for its excellent placement record, the institute’s graduates are thriving not only in top five-star hotels in India and abroad but also in Airlines, Cruise-liners, Banking, Corporate-marketing, Call-centers, Teaching, the Indian Army, and more.

Since 1994, the IPS Academy Institute of Hotel Management has been affiliated with the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and follows the curriculum approved by Devi Ahilya University, Indore. The curriculum is regularly updated to meet international standards and industry needs. Students are not only trained in hotel operations but also groomed for careers in the wider service sector. Classroom learning is complemented with real-world exposure, ensuring students are ready for the challenges of the modern workplace. With the growing demand for multi-skilled professionals, the institute ensures that its graduates are equipped with both technical expertise and professional skills.

Curriculum with Values & Practical Learning

Hospitality is not just about welcoming and serving guests; it is deeply connected with values of care, timely service, and hygiene. At IPS Academy Institute of Hotel Management, these values are woven into the very fabric of the curriculum. Students are trained in essential areas such as balanced diets, nutrition, food safety, and foodhygiene practices, ensuring they understand the food science as well as the art of hospitality. The
institute maintains spotless, industry-standard practical labs where students develop professional habits from the very beginning.

Alongside academics, the institute places equal emphasis on teamwork, leadership, and cultural understanding. Regional food festivals such as Punjabi, Gujarati, Goan, Bangali, and Maharashtra celebrations are regularly organized, allowing students to explore Indian cultural diversity while sharpening their culinary creativity. International cuisine, culinary arts, Bakery, confectionery, and Event Management with added basic management skills are part of the Curriculum.

Another major strength of the IPS Academy Institute of Hotel Management lies in its outstanding placement support. In their final year, students undergo a full one year Skill-development training program at leading five star hotels, gaining hands-on experience in departments of their choice, such as kitchen, front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage service. This exposure often leads to direct job offers, with over 90 percent of students securing positions in the same hotels where they get training. Renowned groups like Taj, ITC, Marriott, Radisson, and Oberoi consistently recruit graduates, reflecting the high demand for our trained professionals.
