Head - Business Development
The company has reshaped India’s precision mapping and automation capabilities through the combination of locally manufactured GNSS hardware, IoT-friendly embedded solutions, and a growing network of over 1,200 active geodetic base stations, offering high accuracy at a fraction of the traditional cost. The CORS network is built on advanced triple -band GNSS chipsets, this network will power surveying instruments, drones, autonomous systems, UAV’S and connected vehicles, where precision matters. “Our goal is simple yet ambitious to make centimeter-level positioning as affordable and accessible as regular GPS”, says Ivs Prasad, Head - Business Development, HYFIX India underscoring the mission to democratize precision technology for all.
Engineering India’s First Private RTK Network
This is the story of HYFIX India, born out of a shared vision between its founder IVS Prasad and Mike Horton, creator of GEODNET and founder of Hyfix.ai (USA). The impetus was the realization that importing GNSS components into India was expensive, time-consuming, and restrictive. Fully realizing the immense potential of local innovation, the team established HYFIX India as an independent, majority-Indian entity for the development and manufacturing of GNSS hardware domestically, fitting closely with the goals of the Make in India initiative. Today, it operates one of the first large-scale, private RTK networks in India, offering the GeoMeasure and GeoPulse, which provide seamless, plug and-play access to high-accuracy data.
These innovations are enabled by Hyfix base stations that provide real-time correction streams to enhance the accuracy of GNSS-enabled devices. Hyfix is in collaboration with Geo intel lab of institutions like IITTNiF. The geointel lab uses HYFIX CORS data along with SOI and IMD for their research and academic studies such as reflectrometry etc.
Hyfix India along with its channel partners such as Asim Navigation, welcome technologies, veritas solutions and KK geo solutions, is well-positioned as a commercial partner in India’s growing geospatial ecosystem. Centimeter-level accuracy on low-cost chipsets was no small feat; it required deep expertise in signal correction, atmospheric modeling, and algorithmic refinement.
“What sets us apart is not just precision, but the way we’ve made it practical on which our network runs efficiently, reliably, and locally”, explains Ivs Prasad. By maintaining all data within the AWS Mumbai data center, the company ensures both data sovereignty and compliance with evolving national geospatial policies.
Low-Cost, IoT-Ready Precision for the Real World
At the heart of its innovation is a capability to achieve, most affordable positioning solutions for IoT and remote applications. Products such as Geo-Pulse with inbuilt IMU and DR allow developers to introduce high-precision GNSS capabilities into compact devices ranging from drones, smart tractors and robots without bulky equipment, this can provide a CM level accuracy to the GPS for their outdoor operations. Its flagship surveying tool, GeoMeasure, will be a one click setup with a RTK Network connected device to achieve land measurement upto cm level accuracy in simplest way. This simplifies traditional DGPS-based land measurement by replacing the complex setup with a single, RTK network-connected device. This has reduced survey time by half, and users can now finish what used to take two days in just one.
A real customer example involves the use of GeoPulse to map coffee and timber plantations, at RTK-level accuracy-a process that was previously dependent upon imported Garmin devices. “Seeing users push the boundaries of what our technology can do, that’s the true reward”, shares Ivs Prasad. Its affordable RTK network subscription, priced at about ₹34,000 annually, further lowers barriers for professionals and startups alike. Partnerships with companies such as AUTONXT, which uses HYFIX India’s ROVER kits for autonomous tractor navigation, demonstrate the tangible impact of its solutions across industries.
Future Vision
HYFIX India plans to grow its network from 1,200 to 2,500 stations as a next milestone with a larger objective of setting up 8,000 base stations across the country, so that at no point should a reference station be more than 10-15 km away. A lightweight 250-gram demonstration drone is also being worked upon, to depict how important RTK accuracy is in operations related to drones and autonomy. For now, the big vision is powering AI-driven physical automation in which robots, drones, and autonomous vehicles which requires centimeter-level precision to interact with the real world. Precisely as India embarks on its journey of becoming self-reliant in advanced technologies, it stands as a bridge between innovation and accessibility, ensuring that precision is not a privilege but a standard.
