Earned 10+ years of experience in the wireless audio realm during his endeavours as the Director of Engineering at Bridge Co & SMSC, Subhajeet felt diverted when SMSC got acquired by a larger entity with vast portfolio of products. Embarked on his entrepreneurial venture in 2015 to embrace free thinking, his vast experience in working on other platforms which deliver similar products, coupled with the knowledge he gained by visiting innumerable technical shows worldwide throughout his career helped Subhajeet to pinpoint consumers' challenges. Pioneering Solutions
The ultra-low latency streaming solutions pioneered by Winix enables users to simultaneously view the video on TV, while hearing the audio through headsets. Nobody was able to build such a technology, since it has to be done quickly in order to find the sync between audio & video. "We bring in the experience of what others lack and build on top of it," remarks Subhajeet. The company's user-friendly devices will directly connect to the user's home access points and thus to internet, and enable users to stream music not just from other electronic systems (laptops & smartphones) that are connected to the same access point, but also from music service providers like radio & sound clouds through its speakers.
Currently providing hardware and software solutions to international tier-1 brands on a royalty-based model, Winix's will cater in a per unit basis when it hits the market with its B2C plan of launching its wireless headphones and speakers (X-Series). Winix is coping up with the challenge of rigid import/export related policies and scarcity of good quality engineers in India. "Our engineering curriculum lags behind the international education systems and not up to the mark with what the industry needs. Hence it takes ample time (six months) to train them in order to empower them to compete with international players and derive good quality code from them," opines Subhajeet. Constantly on the look out for more engineers, Winix encourages its people to put their best foot forward by keeping them content with a salary that's above the industry standards.
Upcoming Innovations
Winix's upcoming product is WI-MESH, a Wi-Fi based mesh network for M2M & IoT providers, which is designed to cover a
humongous area of more than one kilometer. All set to be launched in the Indian market next year, it can connect plentiful of traditional devices to the cloud and capture analytics from those devices, which will be sold to customers on a subscription basis. It is designed to connect up to 1024 nodes in a stable mesh and its intelligent algorithm allows users to reconfigure the mesh when needed to get best available throughput. The company anticipates immense potential for WI-MAP, its location-based IoT analytics service, which allows retailers to hit more sales and higher revenues with its unique tracking and analytics. Winix is also building a video system, which is currently in stealth mode, but still proved to be one of the best, just as all of its other products.
