Basheer Boddikonda
CEO & Director (Semiconductor Engineering)
Founded in 2018 by Basheer Boddikonda, CEO & Director (Semiconductor Engineering), Xtremesilica is on a mission to develop world-class ASIC/FPGA design IPs, verification IPs, and innovative AI hardware products. Unlike many Indian firms focused on offshore design services, Xtremesilica is creating cutting-edge semiconductor IPs and systems intended for global deployment.
In early 2023, the company launched its first flagship product PCI Gen4 Backplane, one of the first products of its kind to be fully designed and manufactured in India. After receiving certification from one of the world’s top five technology companies, the product was deployed across Malaysia, Singapore, and China, with over 700 units shipped and quarterly revenue averaging $1 million.
Engineering Resilience in Handling RealWorld Product Complexity
Like any product company, Xtremesilica faces real-time challenges, especially when customers discover new requirements post-deployment. “Each customer has a dedicated delivery manager who collects daily inputs and works with our engineering team. We maintain isolated databases per client, so updates and bug fixes are applied precisely. A dedicated engineer tracks every feature and update”, says Basheer. This agile support
model has helped Xtremesilica maintain rapid turnaround, strong customer satisfaction, and consistent feature scalability across deployments.
Approach to Cultivating Talent & Technology Focus
Attracting skilled semiconductor talent in India remains a challenge. To solve this, Xtremesilica created SION Varsity, an in-house training and recruitment initiative. Through this program, 300 - 400 individuals are trained annually in VLSI design and embedded systems. The top 0.5 - 1 percent are onboarded into Xtremesilica’s core team. Most of the company’s current employees have emerged from this pipeline, supplemented by industry hires with startup mindsets and a passion for deep tech. This dual hiring strategy is enabling Xtremesilica to build and retain a high-performance team ready to tackle complex semiconductor challenges.

Xtremesilica keeps its product line future-ready by closely monitoring advancements in ICs and SoCs, ensuring customers get solutions that deliver higher performance at lower power, without becoming obsolete.
Growth & Future Roadmap
Xtremesilica’s culture blends innovation, agility, and excellence, with an emphasis on collaboration, learning, and technological passion. It’s building a company where young engineers grow into world-class VLSI experts, and where Indian semiconductor products compete head-to-head on the global stage.
With 22+ new products in various stages of development, Xtremesilica is preparing for a major product rollout by late 2026. It has already established a strong sales presence in China, Singapore, and Malaysia, with plans to expand into Europe and the U.S. “Our goal is to scale our product footprint globally and reach $350 – $500 million in annual sales by 2030. We’re aggressively expanding our launch cycles and sales networks to meet that goal”, says Basheer.
